Scarf inspiration x 25

28 December 2011

Have you ever wondered how to tie your scarf? My friend sent me a link to Wendy's Look Book video-tutorial couple of days ago and I just have to share it with you. I never knew there was at least 25 different ways to wear your scarf! I pretty much always wear my scarf the same boring way, so this tutorial came in handy for me!

If you want spruce up your scarf look, why not try making a cute flower brooch out of old T-shirts? I found an awesome easy peasy tutorial on a Bit of Sunshine by the lovely Rebekah. See the full tutorial on her blog.

Jewelry I heart today

27 December 2011

Hey sweet peas! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I took a little break from blogging last week - just needed to regroup before the Holidays. I'm here at my mum's and I could not feel more relaxed. Yesterday we were going through some of my nanna's old stuff and we found her jewelry box! Jackpot! I immediately spotted this stunning bronze pyrite ring. I absolutely adore it - she had great taste! This vintage beauty is a gem I know I'll treasure forever. I just wish my nanna was here to tell me its story!

Aren't these just fabulous? I've seen some of Hilda's work on various people's pinboards in Pinterest, but it was only last night I was able to track the real source and find her full porfolio. I love her work! And oh boy, would I like to decorate my home with these vintage gems. Each object is just perfection in my eyes!

Ps. You should also check out Hilda's beautiful blog. She's currently doing a series of recap posts of her year 2011.

Modern + vintage

16 December 2011

What do you think about this modern + vintage combo? I'm rather smitted with it myself. I'd very happily include these both beauties in my wardrobe. I love mustard yellow, I love knits, I love peachy pink, I love geometric patterns, I love gold. These just check all the boxes for me! Swoon is the word.

A beautiful Swedish home

15 December 2011

I was visiting my friend Joanna in Stockholm couple of weeks ago and I absolutely fell in love with her beautiful eclectic apartment. She has collected such stunning little details to make her apartment feel very warm and homely. I also love the way her personality comes across in the furniture she has selected for her home. Nothing feels too thought through and that's probably why it all works so well. Thank you Joanna for the wonderful weekend! I loved visiting your home!

Jewelry I heart today

I'm kind of obsessed with owls at the moment... or actually with all animal related jewelry, for that matter. So when I laid my eyes on this green timeless beauty, it was love at first sight. The green Lucite body combined with the modern shaped owl makes this a perfect playful pretty for any occasion - both formal and casual. Oh bliss!

I came across two amazing and simple DIY accessory projects on a German blog called My Stolt. I think all DIY projects should be this easy and cool. All you need is some small neat shaped plastic children's toys, gold spray (or any other cool color) paint, glue and some ready-to-go jewelry supplies. The links below the images take you for the full tutorials. Thank you Meike for these!

Ps. I'm in love with the pyramids ring!

Grow. Cook. Sew. - Blog makeover

7 December 2011

Hi there! I recently finished a blog design for Katie over at Grow. Cook. Sew. I absolutely loved working with her, because she's is such a stunning individual who wears her heart on her sleeve. I loved getting to know Katie through her blog and the emails we exchanged during the design process. She wanted her blog to be happy, light and airy place with subtle colors - something modern with a girly twist. I warmly recommend popping over for a visit and getting to know Katie more.

Ps. The beautiful photographs of Katie have been taken by Annelie Hansen.

Jewelry I heart today - Finnish edition

6 December 2011

Hey darlings, I'm back! I had a great trip to Sweden and I have some pretty things to share with you later this week. But today is all about celebrating independence day here in Finland, so I decided to pick a Finnish gem as my "jewelry I heart today" piece. This beautiful deer antlers necklace is made by a talented designer Emilia H√§kkinen. Her jewelry makes the perfect pretties for any wintry party.

I'm jumping on a jet plane!

2 December 2011

Hi sweets! I'm off to Stockholm for a long weekend! I'm so excited about this trip, because I'll be reuniting with my old flatmate from Amsterdam. We haven't seen each other since 2005, so there will be lots to catch up. I'm also looking forward to some great vintage shopping and nice cafes. I haven't been there in a while, so it'll be fun to see how things have changed. I also spotted this Design* Sponge Stockholm guide that I'm going to print out for myself. Hopefully I'll have a chance to visit at least couple of the places on their list. Have a great weekend loves! I promise to take lots of photos and share them with you next week :)

Vintage 1970s Marcasite sterling silver ring via Erin Antiques

Oh I adore this 70s vintage ring! It's so delicate and rock-chic-cool at the same time. I'm not a fan of too much sparkly bling, but I think the tiny marcasite (pyrite) around the band is just the right amount. I think the ring would also look very pretty as a pendant! I might be in love, yet again! :)

Ps. Happy 1st of December!!!
